Our Mission, Vision & Values

Amplifying the voices of equity-deserving groups in the Etobicoke and GTA by telling the stories of their lives through the art they create.

alder for the heart examines how personal identity is woven from the ecological, ancestral, and urban landscape around us, exploring the deep interconnections between self, memory, and place in Etobicoke/Adobigok through the works of emerging artists. The artworks in this exhibition reflect the artists’ interpretations of what the city of Etobicoke means to them. By creating deep connections between art, place, and people, this juried exhibition celebrates the diverse voices of emerging professional artists from our local communities. Alder for the heart invites visitors to reflect on their own roots: what has helped you grow? How do the places around you shape who you are?

Who We Are

The New Vistas program is partnership between the City of Toronto's Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery (ECCAG) and Humber's Arts Administration and Cultural Management, Planning in Arts and Culture (PAC) course. The goal of the exhibit is to engage and support early-career visual artists from equity deserving-communities, while providing students with the opportunity to learn arts programming, production and marketing via a hands-on approach.
